It seems the world is conspiring against parents during the school holidays; not only does the cost of trips abroad escalate, so does the cost of staying at home with a reported 3% rise in the cost of childcare.
So what's the solution? Late minute holiday deals are a great way to get something cheap at the last minute; although with kids in tow in can be a gamble as to where your accommodation will be.
Another good alternative is to book your holiday long way in advance and benefit from early booking discounts. Obviously this isn't going to work for the summer, but now is the deal time to book your winter holidays. Booking ski holidays early means you can chose your resort at leisure, and get some practise in!
