Ski resorts keep holiday blues at bay

A recent report has found that one in ten British holidaymakers end up having blazing rows with travel companions when the weather turns bad, apparently because we are stuck for anything better to do.

Even more depressing is the recommended solution to holiday-boredom; take your laptop with you so you can email people at home when you get fed up of spending quality time with your nearest and dearest. Perhaps a better solution would be to select a holiday that has a bit more to offer in the way of entertainment.

Ski resorts are well equipped to deal with all sorts of weather variations. Obviously there is the snow and the mountains to keep you going, failing that there are interesting local villages to explore, and even of that doesn't keep you occupied, all that fresh air and fondue will make you feel so relaxed that it will only be the log fire left blazing at the end of the day.

More holidays = happier people

Ground-breaking research has unearthed a formula decreeing that people who do not like their jobs and only go on one holiday a year will probably be miserable for most of the time, hardly a revelation there then.

So what is the solution? Jack in your job and travel the World is the ideal answer, but not so practical. The next best thing.... have more holidays! By spreading your holidays out over the winter and then summer months you get more holiday time, and more anticipation time.

With a huge number of budget skiing holidays available, even normal people can afford to take two breaks. So get put your swimming trunks in the bottom drawer for another year and dig out your woolly hat, you'll be out enjoying the snow before you know it!

Winter holidays best way to avoid summer travel crush

The best way to avoid delays and cancelled flights is to postpone your holidays until the winter when the reduced number of travellers will help ensure flights run smoothly. You can take advantage of budget skiing holidays and enjoy cheap ski flights, safe in the knowledge that there should actually be some pilots free to take you there!
